The ABC of the Histology is intended to convey basic knowledge of human tissues by images analysis, using the standard technique of staining haematoxylin-eosin (H&E). The approach of the book is to simplify the concepts of a knowledge area somewhat difficult to convey, by analyzing 125 images, selected for the purpose of highlighting the fundamental concepts of Histology. In summary, the ABC of the tissues, which can be read and summarized in few hours.

Biografía:

Graduated in Medicine in 1993 from the University of Salamanca. Subsequently performed doctoral studies in the Department of Cellular Biology and Pathology, of the University of Salamanca, on morphology and immunohistochemistry in the bronchogenic carcinoma, obtaining the PhD in Medicine in 1997. Currently a professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Beira Interior, a public education system, where teaching is provided according to the new Bologna method. Also collaborates with the CICS-UBI (Health Sciences Research Centre) and Hospital Cova da Beira in Portugal belonging to the Public Health System. Ana Rita Alves, Medical Student at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Beira Interior (FCS-UBI). Completed with success the first two years of the Integrated Master in Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine of Coimbra, between 2008 – 2010, having also collaborated with the Department of Public Health of NEMD / AAC. In 2010 enrolled in the Integrated Master in Medicine (FCS-UBI), currently attending the 4th year. Also participates and collaborates in some extracurricular activities at FCS-UBI. In 2013 performed a clinical internship in Medical Emergencies at the Hospital Center.
