Don Majorero was a decorated soldier who was given the opportunity to emigrate from Fuerteventura during a period of drought to avoid starvation. However, he decided to remain on the island to help his fellow Majoreros and Majoreras to pull through those difficult times. Furthermore, as a good soldier, he offered to defend the island against pirate attacks.
Jimena is the daughter of Don Majorero. She learns new things daily and wants to improve her personal and social abilities. Every day, she tries to improve her confidence and materialises her dreams. She regularly helps out in her household and neighbourhood.
She likes nature and animals. The purpose of this tale, written for young girls and young boys, teenagers and other young people, is for them to discover their roots to help them grow and to give them wings to fly.
